Frequently Asked Questions

What makes your service different from a large pet-care company?

You get me. I'm the person you meet, the person your pet gets to know, and the person who shows up every time. No rotating walkers, no large group walks — just personal, dependable care tailored to your pet.

How do I book a walk or visit?

Simply call, text, or email me to tell me a little about your pet and what kind of care you're looking for. We'll discuss your needs, find a schedule that works, and take it from there.

Which areas do you serve?

I provide pet care in Rancho Bernardo, 4S Ranch, Poway, Carmel Mountain Ranch and Sabre Springs. If you fall outside of this area, please contact me to discuss how I can help. If I can, I will.

What types of pets do you care for?

I provide dog walking, in-home pet visits, and care for puppies, cats, rabbits and other small animals. Have something more unusual? Give me a call, text or email to discuss the details.

What do your services cost?

My full, up-to-date pricing can be found here.

Do you offer recurring pet care?

Yes, I offer one-off, occasional and regular services. Repeat clients receive lower rates than one-off bookings.

Will the same person care for my pet every time?

Yes. It's always me.

I believe consistency matters—for both pets and their people—and I want your pet to get to know and trust the person caring for them.

How long are your dog walks?

Dog walks are available in 30, 45 and 60-minute options. If you want something longer or shorter than this, please contact me to discuss the details.

Do you walk dogs in groups?

I don't pick up your dog and combine them with a group of other dogs.

Walks are personalized to your dog, with walks alongside compatible dogs available by request. So if your household has more than one dog, or if your dog has a best friend and you want me to walk them together, I will.

Can you take my dog somewhere other than my neighborhood?

Absolutely. I can walk a favorite neighborhood route, or I can take your dog to another local walking spot. However, please keep in mind that session length is from pick up to drop off, so if I do take your dog to another location, the driving time will be included in the service length. For example, if I drive 15 minutes to a park, spend 30 minutes there, and then drive 15 minutes back to you, this is a 1-hour session.

Do you provide water and treats?

I carry fresh water and doggy bowls with me on every walk. I also carry treats but will only give them with your permission. You can also provide me with your dog's favorite treats if you like.

How do photo updates and location sharing work?

These are optional extras I'm happy to provide. Let me know if you want photo updates from the walk and I'll text them to you. I can also share my location with you so that you can see in real-time where we are.

Can you administer medication?

I can provide basic, agreed-upon medication care where appropriate, but I do not provide veterinary treatment. This means I can give pills and syringe feed recurring medication. If you have a specific need and aren't sure it's covered, please contact me to discuss the details.

Are you insured, background checked and certified?

I offer a number of credentials and safeguards for your peace of mind, including pet care insurance, Pet CPR & First Aid certification, a background check and a clean driving record. All documentation is available upon request.

What if my pet is shy or nervous around new people?

That's okay. I take the time to learn each animal's personality and let them get to know me at their own pace. A shy cat, nervous dog or wary rabbit doesn't need to become instantly comfortable with me—we build trust gradually.

What is your cancellation / rescheduling policy?

I understand that plans change and we don't always expect it. Please just let me know as soon as possible. I will make every effort to accommodate any unexpected plan changes. If cancellations or rescheduling become frequent, I'll discuss the situation with you and may need to introduce cancellation fees or reconsider ongoing services.

How far in advance should I book?

I suggest reaching out as soon as you know you need pet care. I'll make every effort to accommodate last-minute requests, but I am the sole operator of the business and if I'm already booked, I may not be able to provide the time-slot you require.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept cash, check, debit and credit cards, and Venmo. Payment is due at time of service.

Do you offer a meet and greet before my first booking?

Yes. Every new client has a complimentary initial meet-and-greet, which includes completing the necessary onboarding paperwork. It's a chance for me to meet you and your pet, learn about their routines and needs, and make sure we're a good fit before the first scheduled service.

How do you access my home if I'm not there?

Every home is different, so I'll work with you to arrange whatever access method is most appropriate, whether that's a key, security code, gated-community access, or another arrangement. Any keys, codes, or access information entrusted to me will be treated responsibly and kept secure.

What happens if my pet becomes sick or injured while in your care?

Your pet's safety and welfare are my top priority. As part of the onboarding process, I'll ask for permission to take your pet to their regular veterinarian if necessary. If I notice something concerning but not immediately urgent, I'll consult with you first. In an emergency, I'll prioritize your pet's safety and seek appropriate veterinary care.
